As the CIO I am responsible for providing management over all information technology initiatives. This includes the formation of strategic goals and objectives, along with guiding the police department as we move forward in assisting the needs of our community.

In June of 2014 I was elected by the Capital Wireless Information Net (CapWIN) Board of Directors to serve as their Chairman. It is my honor and pleasure to fill this position. I look forward to the continued operation between all CapWIN member agencies and their respective States here in the MD/DC/VA region. My goal is to improve the offerings and information sharing between all public safety entities in order to keep our first responders safe.

Oversee and manage the program activities for over 120 particpating federal, state and local Public Safety agenciesEnsure that all necessary contractural agreements are executedConduct CapWIN related presentations throught the National Capitol Region (MD/VA/DC)Perform liaison functions on several governmental committeesArrange and conduct training

Assist the Commander with the daily operations of the Technical Services Division. This includes the Police Records Section, the Technology Integration Section, the Data Compliance Section, the Property Management Section and the Auxiliary Investigations Section.Monitor yearly goals and objectives to ensure compliance.Supervise Section Commanders and oversee their continued professional development.Prepare written reports to my superiors to keep them informed of all outstanding issues.

Coordinate all homeland security functions for the Police Department.Manage daily operations of the Protective Services Section, providing building security at the County Administration Building, the RMS and Largo Government Center.Serve as the point of immediate contact for the Maryland Coordination Analysis Center (MCAC) and the PGPD Chief of Police.Serve as the Department representative on the Maryland Anti Terrorism Advisory Council (ATAC).

Coordinate and manage a multitude of high-level projects, i.e. computer local area network (LAN), geographic information systems (GIS), mainframe data analysisFulfill the role of the department's Information Technology Coordinator as a liaison to the County Office of Information, Technology & CommunicationSupervised the creation of the Technology Integration Section (TIS) and implemented a project initiation methodology to ensure my staff fulfills all tasks.Informed department employees on the creation of T.I.S. by establishing a marketing campaign in order for everyone to become aware of the separation of the Technology Integration Section from the Information Resource Management Section.Managed over 1,100 network domain and 800 mainframe user accounts.
