To maintain and manage the RoS ISMS (Information Security Management System) by conducting the following IT Security and Information Assurance functions:Performs technical risk and vulnerability assessments, and business impact analysis. Interprets HMG security and assurance policies and guidance for relevance to RoS.Contributes to development of RoS security standards and guidelines and the Information Assurance awareness programme.Provides advice and guidance on the application and operation of elementary physical, procedural and technical security controls consistent with the controls and guidance in ISO 27001, the baseline controls in the HMG Security Policy Framework, CESG portfolio and the CPNI secure extranet. Reviews compliance to information security policies and standards, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Monitors the application and compliance of security operations procedures and review information systems for actual or potential breaches in security. Assesses the significance to RoS of security advice and alerts from HMG security services and makes appropriate recommendations.Ensures that all identified breaches in security are promptly and thoroughly investigated.Investigates suspected attacks and manages security incidents.Ensures that any system changes required to maintain security are implemented. Ensures that security records are accurate and complete.Produces, provides and maintains staff security awareness material.Configures, maintains and manages IT systems such as email and internet content filtering software, USB device controls in line with RoS policy.
