Everyone comes back to Kingspan eventually! Great to be back, too! Doing everything I used to do, plus gradually taking on the role of BIM Lead. Provision of energy efficiency advice to the commercial sector. Qualified Non-domestic energy assessor who can provide commercial Energy Performance Certificates when a property is offered for sale or let. Also engaged in the provision of SBEM calculations for Part L compliance on proposed new-build projects prior to starting on site. Fully qualified to conduct domestic and commercial air tightness tests and either new or existing buildings. Also produced on-site CAD survey plans for marketing purposes or lease plans (CAD) for commercial leases in excess of seven years. Vast experience of insulated roofing and cladding design.

At Kingspan, I advised architects, engineers and specifiers on how to get their designs to achieve compliance with the Building Regulations when using Kingspan's superb products. I aslo helped with design, showing how best to utilise these products. This could involve anything from producing a working site drawing to providing the client with a bespoke U-value or roof drainage calculation. I was also very heavily involved in the research and development of Kingspan's Thermatile hanging tile range of panels. This involved design of the system using full 3D rendered CAD and subsequent testing for structural strength, air and water permeability and wind load, amongst other things.

Design Draughtsman with very highly respected roofing and cladding company. Duties at Lakesmere involved taking possession of a projects and managing it from beginning to end. This included planning of the project and the detailed design and production of site drawings to enable construction to move forward. While at Lakesmere, I worked on many high end projects within both the private and public sectors. Additional tasks included regular site surveys, the production of BOMs and cutting lists for manufacturing of site materials and the ordering of these materials for timely site delivery, liaison, via site meetings or internet, with architects, structural engineers, site operatives and suppliers. Projects I produced designs for included a new electronics laboratory at Southampton University and the world's first - and only - three storey dogs' kennel at Battersea Dogs' Home. This project was an "And finally..." item on News at Ten!
