Major achievements as Group IT Director (Aug 2006 - Sep 2009) include:• Developed corporate IT strategy and secured Board approval for the strategy and implementation programme.• Led the selection of external providers of IT application and infrastructure services.• Provided strategic leadership for the development of new award winning IT systems supporting the allocation of donated organs and the ordering of blood from hospitals.• Consolidated regional NHS blood donation databases into a single national database.• Implemented a national integrated voice and data network covering all fixed and mobile services at all locations.• As SIRO, established effective Information Governance and Assurance arrangements across the organisation in line with NHS and Cabinet Office requirements.Major achievements as Director of Business Transformation (May 2008 - Sep 2009) include:• Set up a a corporate business transformation services unit supporting integrated change programmes in each business unit under the overall direction of a transformation programme board chaired by the Chief Executive.• Set up the PMO with requisite skills, methodologies, processes and systems for tracking, reporting and assuring the status of change projects.• Led the procurement of external expert support for strategy development, business analysis and Lean management.Major achievements as Director of Blood Donation (Jul 2009 - Aug 2012) include:• Restructuring of management responsibilities to reflect corporate strategic objectives.• Stabilisation of supply of supply of blood to meet demand from hospitals, eliminating stock shortages.• Increasing donor satisfaction from 66% to 70%.• Reducing donor adverse events by 35%.• Increasing blood collection productivity by 19% and reducing overall cost by 12%.• In collaboration with Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, successfully set up a major research project into the health of blood donors.
