I have returned back to the Boohoo Group as a contractor to help to drive cost and quality improvements on a project which spans the whole supply chain

I worked for the Fraser group primarily focused on one of their brands called Studio Retail. I managed the relationship with their freight forwarder partner, 3PL warehouse provider, outbound carriers and three DC’s. I was also involved in group contract negotiations for carrier contracts.

The title can be somewhat misleading as I am in fact responsible for anything that is not currently sat on a shelf in the warehouse. So global and domestic inbound freight, carrier outbound (70m parcels pa) and carrier returns. My budgetary responsibility is circa £450m annualised.I am also responsible for central planning and the Wholesale supply chain.

I set up the Pretty Little Thing warehouse in partnership with Clipper logistics in Sheffield, dispatching over 30m items per annum and processing 7m returns. I was also responsible for the inbound freight and outbound carriage. My overall budgetary responsibility was £125M

We repair, refurbish and sell electrical products on behalf of both retailers and manufacturers. Our client portfolio includes Amazon, Argos and Richersounds.

I founded my own supply chain consultancy specialising in interim management and consultancy. Working for and with a number of clients, I undertook a strategic review of certain elements of their supply chain function, identified efficiency improvements and assisted them in realising the benefits.

I was responsible for the primary, secondary and returns logistics supply chains, as well as the product repair and refurbishment operation and a fleet department with over 800 vehicles. We employed 600 staff over 13 sites, with an annual cost budget of £35m.

• Successfully managed the in-house warehousing operation over 4 sites, 1500 staff, £30M budget, dispatching 30m items pa and the reprocessing of 8m returns pa.• Implemented a continuous improvement programme based on Lean and 6-Sigma delivering annual savings of £4m.• Successfully commissioned a new hanging garment facility.• Initiated Consultative Forums with a heavily unionised workforce and improved industrial relations, allowing the introduction of 7 day working and enabling the business to delay £35m of infrastructure capital investment.• Supported the radical move from a predominately traditional catalogue retailer to an internet based sales company and high street retailer.
