I have had over thirty year’s qualified working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering, from field and office standpoints. Specializing for thirty years in mechanical erection and maintenance of fixed mineral processing equipment for the Cement industry.Over thirty years have been spent in supervisory and management positions in both the UK and overseas. With secondments to train foreign nationals to self-sufficiency in operation and maintenance activities as well as site management on new projects. The autonomy and successful completion of these assignments has not only furnished professional confidence and credibility but also the comfortable knowledge that I can readily adapt to different environments and cultures.When made redundant by Blue Circle in 1987 this gave me the confidence needed to start my own business, Pindale Farm Outdoor Centre. The centre was officially opened by HRH The Prince of Wales on Monday 24th April 1988. After the initial hard work, the centre now only has mundane tasks to keep the centre expanding, as the Peak District National Park tourism expands. Having achieved the goals set out in the original cash flows I looked for other challenges.Initially asked back to Blue Circle to assist with Mechanical Supervision of Blue Circle and contract labor, on major repairs in 1989. This expanded to full-time work as a Mechanical Engineer / Site Manager for the past twenty years. The use of lap top and fixed computer systems adds flexibility to computer programs such as Auto Cad and Microsoft Project giving on site access to powerful management aids and drafting tools. Once again, giving me the problems to solve, that I need to give me confidence and a feeling of achievement.
