I am an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a passion for helping people transition into middle age and beyond by making the right life style choices through exercise and diet. My original professional was banking and finance, but at the age of 40, I found myself fat, burntout and heading for major health issues, so I made the decision to return to university and complete my degree in Exercise and Sports Science and help others with their journey. I currently lead of team of Allied Health Professionals at UnitingCare with the responsibility of teaching staff safe manual handling practices and client care. UnitingCare has over 18,000 employees and 6,000 volunteers, with approximately 65% of the workforce over the age of 45, providing much needed care. The demographic make up of the UnitingCare work force has fortified my commitment in helping to keep people strong, fit and safe.I have also learnt during COVID the need to be agile, in providing services and the importance of remotely managing a high performance team, where conditions were changing on a daily basis.My skills in finance and banking have given me a practical skill base and life experience outside of a clinical setting, which has helped me build stakeholder relationships, gather and critically assess data and lead projects.
