Budget and Project Manager responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams of professional design engineers to deliver cost effective and technically compliant projects for the Trunk Road Maintenance Contract in the South West of Scotland. The role requires me to have proven technical knowledge and ability to efficiently manage the annual Routine Maintenance budget with programme and financial reporting to the Senior Management team.Within this role I have the following detailed knowledge and expertise:In depth knowledge of the Network Management Trunk Roads Contract for the South East Trunk Roads, Contract requirements and Method of Measurement.Detailed understanding of the business commercial strategy in order to manage financial risk and cost uncertainty, and implementing risk mitigation measures.Manage the delivery of multiple projects and ensuring the work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner in line with company procedures and Contract requirements.Communicate, coordinate and engage with Regulatory Bodies to ensure project completion and compliance achieved.Collaborative approach to resolving of complex engineering problems and to manage the flow of project information in the fields of road design, drainage, lighting, signing, landscaping and earthworks.Ability to work in a highly regulated environment with high safety standards and culture, and to advise on Health & Safety and environmental issues and risk.Review, assess and appraise financial and technical reports and submissions.Meet requirements of Key Performance Indicators, ensure that Client objectives are met, and business success is achieved.Effective governance of processes and systems for projects under the Routine Maintenance Budget

Principal Engineer and technical lead responsible for a team of 6 professional Highways Design Engineers to carry out cost effective and technically compliant major trunk schemes for the Road Maintenance Contact in the South West of Scotland. The role required me to have proven knowledge and ability in the DMRB specializing in Pavement Design and Construction covering aspects such as Traffic Assessment, Foundations, Pavement Design and Construction Methods. I also coordinated our specialized pavement and investigation team in conducting scheme-level pavement assessments on all types of pavements such as:Visual Condition surveys;Test pits or large road cores;Laboratory testing;Nature, extent and severity of pavement defects;Probable cause of defects; andProposed remedial treatments; andConduct option appraisal and whole life costs.Under our company procedure I was also responsible for quality and technical compliance of all detailed design of all major maintenance treatments. I was required therefore to carry out individual project reviews checking all technical calculations, drawings, numbered appendices, bills of quantities and significant Safety or Environmental risks considered relevant to be included within our Pre-construction information.
