The role required me to have proven knowledge and ability in the DMRB specializing in Pavement Design and Construction covering aspects such as Traffic Assessment, Foundations, Pavement Design and Construction Methods. I also coordinated our specialized pavement and investigation team in conducting scheme-level pavement assessments on all types of pavements such as:Visual Condition surveys;Test pits or large road cores;Laboratory testing;Nature, extent and severity of pavement defects;Probable cause of defects; andProposed remedial treatments; andConduct option appraisal and whole life costs.Under our company procedure I was also responsible for quality and technical compliance of all detailed design of all major maintenance treatments. I was required therefore to carry out individual project reviews checking all technical calculations, drawings, numbered appendices, bills of quantities and significant Safety or Environmental risks considered relevant to be included within our Pre-construction information.
