I began my career in Financial Advice in 2009, advising clients on Mortgage Protection, Specified Serious Illness Cover, Term/Whole of Life Insurance Policies & Personal Income Protection. I had been during that time studying for my BA in Accounting & Finance. In this role I became a Protection Specialist advising clients on getting the most effective policy to meet their financial protection goals. This could be advising a client of their options and allowing them to come to an informed decision. In giving the advice I would take into account a client’s personal & financial circumstances, dependants, outstanding loans and future financial needs. My core foundations in financial services were built during this period and overall my aim was to advise the client to the best of my ability. The reason why, is that a client and their family depend on the financial advice that I give as a financial adviser. As the possible life events a family could deal with, would range from covering funeral expenses, outstanding loans, mortgages, bills, provision of income for period after the event, to even covering costs for dependants such as accommodation & tuition.Once I understood how important a role that financial advice played, I decided that this was the career path I wanted to move forward on for the rest of my life.
