30+ Years experience in the construction industry starting as a joiner and progressing to M.D. of a speculative development company. later, operations manager of a timber engineering company and finally before joining Diversity Energy Solutions in September 2020, eight years as a level 2 air test engineer / Consultant with Stroma Built Environment. I am passionate about energy efficient construction methods and technologies having gained a lot of experience in building and testing Passivehouses around Scotland. I am very customer care focused and strive to always deliver a friendly, efficient & helpful service that is appreciated by my clients. Air tightness in buildings, both domestic and commercial, can be a very troublesome issue. Often the Air permeability test itself isn't carried out until completion, when remedial actions are more difficult and expensive should results go badly. I welcome enquiries at the design stage where my experience and knowledge in this field can greatly increase the probability of first time passes, offering design reviews, on and off site consultancy, air barrier auditing, through to sample and final air testing and certification issue. I have brought the experience of eight years in the compliance testing industry to head up a new construction services division within Diversity Energy Solutions. Having conducted air permeability tests on thousands of domestic property's and many hundreds of commercial buildings from small industrial units to massive distribution facilities and from coffee shops to hospitals. I am always happy to hear from both new and existing design or contractor clients to discuss their needs and concerns for new projects. From my trade background I understand the importance of explanations in plain English - not techno-babble, and how to resolve issues in the most cost effective and easily delivered ways possible.
