Manufactures and Designers of High Performance Pumps and Submersible Electric Motors to the world’s Power, Water, Oil and Petrochemical Industries.I joined Hayward Tyler to take position of Foreman of the Light Machine Shop, after 18 months I was promoted to General Foreman for all of the Manufacturing; this includes the Light and Heavy Machine Shops, the Welding Shop and a Coppersmith. I Manage a Skilled workforce, working a three-shift system. The Machine Shops consist of a wide variety of machinery, which includes Mills, Borers, Grinders, Lathes, a 5 axis C.N.C. Machining Center, C.N.C. Mills and C.N.C. Lathes. The Welding Shop has facilities for both Pressure Vessel and Fabrication Welding. The welding processes include: - Gas, Mig, M.M.A. and Sub-Arc, coded and non-coded to X-Ray standard. The components range from very small piece parts up to very large forgings, weighing up to 10 tonnes, in a wide variety of common and exotic steels. My main duty was forward planning, ensuring production requirement deadlines were met cost effectively, maintaining Quality Standards and technical specifications, working to systems of ISO 9001:2000 A.S.M.E. ‘U’ Stamp’ T.U.V and M.O.D. approval. My other duties included liaison with Production Engineering and Design, Cost Reduction, Quality Improvements, Training, employment of new staff, and ensuring Health and Safety requirements were maintained at all times, undertaking Risk Assessments and implementing improvements.The origins of Hayward Tyler in England stretch back to 1815, and it has been the center for the design, engineering and production of its main product, the Boiler Circulating Pump (BCP), since it was invented it in the 1940s.
