Alan is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 20 years’ experience within the rail industry specialising in overhead traction systems working with 25kV AC, 50kV AC and 1500V DC systems. He has produced designs from concept to detailed design stage and can take a project from conception to completion.Alan brings to the role of Principal Engineer the ability to produce quality technical designs as well as the perspective of the client side (DPTI technical advisor for Adelaide Electrification), designer and contractor (Laing O’Rourke).Moreover, he is the national leader for the Electrification team, both overseeing the quality output of work and the receipt of new work in a business development role. He is also adept at leading multi-disciplinary projects, recently delivering the OHW for the first stage of the Sydney Metro Northwest project. Alan has had a technical paper published by the RTSA: “The Utilisation of Electrification in Tunnels”, which he presented at AusRAIL 2011.
