An accountant by training (FCCA), I have over 40 years experience gained in the public and private sectors in Northern Ireland, Ireland, Britain, Europe and South East Asia. Now self-employed providing an extensive range of accounting and auditing consultancy services at home and abroad.After working in accounting practice and industry in Northern Ireland, I was based in commerce and industry in London for 5 years (1988-1993). On returning to Northern Ireland, I worked for 11 years as a Senior Manager with HELM Corporation – a consulting company providing accountancy and finance services mainly to the public sector. I moved to the Northern Ireland Audit Office as an Audit Manager in January 2005. Here, I was responsible for producing Value for Money Reports on all aspects of the public sector. These reports formed the basis for Evidence Sessions of both the Westminster and Northern Ireland Assembly Public Accounts Committees.In November 2015, I became a self-employed accountant providing accountancy and taxation services as well as offering local and international consultancy support to the public and private sectors. In 2016, I delivered consultancy support to the Auditor General's Department in Sri Lanka in the area of Performance Audit. I also provided financial accounting and strategic management support to a charity in Northern Ireland providing care services for people with learning difficulties. I am currently providing various accountancy, taxation and consultancy services in the UK and Ireland to a range of clients.
