Liaise with client's departmental management if required, to elaborate on details.Interview, assess and select a broad range of candidates from clerical, secretarial through to technical and engineering, using detailed questioning and recording of information.Negotiate salaries with clients/candidates.Provide personal overviews of candidates to prospective employers.Check references and review relevant certification of candidates.Provide companies and candidates with salary mean and range information.Ensure compliance with current EU and UK Legislation regarding WTD and Health & Safety.Implemented WTD on its introduction in 1998, including presentations to temporary staff and currently provide advice to client companies regarding the Directives.Compile and present tenders to new and existing clients.Prepare recruitment advertisements both in the press and web based media and handle response.Selected and managed implementation of main HR/Recruitment Database in 2002Recruit and select staff internally for Carlton and sister business.Train and mentor junior staff.Entertain clients.Report to management on business activity, profitability and spread of current activity.Make use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook on a daily basis.

Selling advertising space to local businesses

Promote Aberdeen Journals as the premier advertising medium in the local city area.Provide costs and guidance on advertisement content.Liaise with graphics and artists to develop "dummy" advertisements.Responsible for achieving targets and in all cases exceeding them.
