• Developed Georgia’s first volunteer-based oyster restoration and salt marsh water quality monitoring programs directly involving the local community in coastal ecosystem resource protection. • Scientific chair for the development of an aquatic invasive species educational toolkit for Association of Zoo and Aquarium institutes nationwide, the principal investigator for a risk assessment of increased port traffic in the Southeastern U.S, and an advisory committee member for the development of an aquatic invasive species state management plan for Georgia. • Conducted research for shellfish farmers and resource managers to support sustainable and diversified shellfish industry. • Solicited over $2 million in external funding and managed a state budget including staff hiring and oversight. • Responsible for the preparation of reports, scientific publications and outreach materials.
