I am a software engineer and technical leader who believes• Great technology always has to start with the user.• Collaboration with colleagues is critical to the health of a product.• Writing clean, testable, maintainable code is a necessity, not a luxury.• Designing great solutions begins in the requirements gathering process and continues through delivery.• The platform, language and tools matter less than the algorithms behind the solution.• Yet, tooling does matter since it helps us focus on solutions rather than reinventing the wheel.• The best, most elegant solution is worthless if no one uses the product.• Continuous deployment is the ideal.• Rapid iteration builds better products.My current development passion is for full stack development in JavaScript (or Typescript) with a focus on the web as an application platform. I enjoy using NodeJS on the server and locally as part of a build system and I regularly use React or Vuejs on the front-end. Though I often work in JavaScript, I also enjoy working with Swift for iOS, Kotlin for Android, C#, and Python on the server side and databases in both SQL and No-SQL varieties. For my side projects I currently use ApiGateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB to simplify my infrastructure needs.In some of my spare time, I enjoy hiking, woodworking, remodeling projects and most importantly being a husband and father.
