Hired originally for data entry and data analysis, Alan's ever-evolving role within Spiral16 has changed over the years to touch nearly ever aspect of the Social Media Monitoring company. Originally brought on as a contributor, Alan quickly became one of the website's editors and managers. Inducted into the Kansas City Film Critic Circle in 2007, Alan continues to review new-release films and documentaries as the open theatrically in the Kansas City market. Now the owner and editor-in-chief of RazorFine Review, Alan continues to publish reviews, articles, essays, and more on a variety of subjects including film, comic books (and other print media), home video releases, television, and occasionally even music and video games.

Starting as a contributor for the now defunct Transbuddha which would morph into Dad's Big Plan in February of 2010, Alan now serves as media editor producing most of the content for the site in recent years (originally under the moniker Thundarr the Barbarian and later under Cap'n Carrot) including reviews of various media (film, television, comic books, etc.), game and music posts, and random bits of awesome (such as Pandas) found across the Internet.

Created as a personal blog in 2010 by Alan, 'Xplosion of Awesome houses many of the same reviews found on both RazorFine and Dad's Big Plan while also incorporating various other interests of the author.
