Fire protection system sales engineer

Designer of consumer projects utilising CAD. I visit clients and carry out site surveys/visits to ascertain scope required. I expand at any given opportunity the small client base I have been fortunate to do business with and established in residential markets.I also formulate weekly and monthly forecasting/budgetary procedures and sales reviews to manage opportunities.I liaise with local suppliers, engineering and security companies throughout the west of the country.

I produced formal quotations and estimate for the companies various security sectors ranging from Intruder and Fire Alarm, CCTV and Access Control systems and other disciplines within the industry to BSEN and BS standards. I carry out site surveys/visits to ascertain scope required. And expanding the client base established in both residential and end user market as well as tender for companies across Scotland. I also cover the Newcastle area once weekly. I adhere to the companies’ forecasting/budgetary/and target procedures whilst participating in fortnightly sales reviews to manage opportunities.I liaise with local suppliers, internal departments and offices, mechanical engineering companies throughout the country. In this role I am responsible for the management of my personal workload, diary, site surveys and tender deadlines, client building and maintaining and expanding the existing client base.

I produced AutoCAD based fire protection engineering drawings to BSEN 12845. I also attended site visits and client meetings for contracts across Scotland. I ensured liaison with contractors and other clients for design solutions of full specifications. As the Design Estimator I produced tender quotations from formal main contractor tender documentation, CDM Regulations and adhering to BSEN standards. Carry out monthly costing analysis for labour/procurement and actual costs with allocated stock control levels.I conducted site surveys/visits and client meetings. The company had an extensive client base established within Scotland ranging from End user, facilities management, commercial and industrial industries. Forecasting/budgetary/targeted work to follow up and ascertain where the company sits with regards to proposals and outstanding tenders. I was not on targets within this role. Contracts estimated and awarded would be between 2-100k.I liaised with internal and external mechanical departments, design, labour and mechanical engineering companies throughout Scotland. This was a temporary agency position.

I was responsible for producing quotations from formal main contractor tender documentation, CDM regulations as well as providing direct end user engineering solutions to sprinkler systems designed to various BSEN standards. I Conducted site surveys/visits to ascertain scope required. The company had an extensive client base established within retail, residential and end user market as well as facilities management Companies across Scotland. I adhered to strict company strategies, margin improvement and Forecasting/budgetary/target procedures and participated in fortnightly sales reviews to manage opportunities.I liaised with internal departments, external design, labour and mechanical engineering companies throughoutthe central belt. In this role I was responsible for the management of my personal workload, diary, site surveys and tender deadlines. Contracts awarded would be in the value of 1-100k.

In this role, I produced AutoCAD Fire Sprinkler drawings working to BS9251 – Domestic & Residential Systems, and BS5306 Part 2 – Automatic Sprinkler Installations. I was also responsible for designing Sprinkler systems using Full Hydraulic Calculation procedures and associated Full Hydraulic software programmes, allowing use of Towns Main/Pump/Pressure Vessel and Tank Designs. I also assisted sales/estimating departments with providing tender documents for contracts quoted which involved contracting and projecting contracts across Scotland form initial design to handover of the contract. I attended site meetings, carrying out site surveys, liaising with contractors and design teams

I produced formal quotations from contractor driven/internal sales enquiries. In addition I liaised with clients, suppliers, sales team and the production program department. I provided a monthly analysis of incoming orders received from enquiries and was involved in sales meetings and discussions within the company.

I produced AutoCAD format drawings for the engineering industry, covering both civil and structural engineering working with steelwork and structural concrete for projects across Scotland. I also liaised with internal and external design teams in relation to plans, proposals and queries. I managed and maintained all incoming and outgoing company emails through the main server and managed stationery stock control with the drawing office. I carried out general office duties including printing and issuing drawings, and meeting tender deadlines.

I produced manual structural drawings using traditional drawing board equipment for various structural engineering and architectural contracts such as structural staircases, access ramps; structural steelwork and construction drawings for forward submission to building control for contracts within central Scotland. I confirmed arithmetical aspects of engineering and structural mechanics. Part of my role was to communicate between design teams and local councils. As part of my employment I worked on many contracts, learning and developing my knowledge about the use of different construction materials with the industry. I also carried out filing, clerical and general office duties. I left this post to further my career in an AutoCAD design.
