for the Freefall Weapons and PGB Integrated Project TeamsThis post was working on the Paveway IV Precision Guided Bomb Programme. Whilst in this team I worked directly to the Commercial Manager. My main responsibilities were to ensure that the Prime Contractor met all Contractual deliveries under the Design, Development, Qualification and Support Contract plus the solving of any ad-hoc problems that arose. I was asked to obtain many quotations for additional packages of work by my Team Leader or Project Staff for items ranging from spares to additional Trials with values as high as £5M. I undertook all negotiation on terms and price on behalf of my manager and provided advice for his signature. Additional Tasks I was asked to complete were to agree a Commercial Exploitation Levy with a Sub-Contractor for the PGB Fuse and to draft Non-Disclosure Agreements in accordance with the International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR) so we could receive data from a US sub-Contractor.

for the Fleet Wide Systems Integrated Project TeamI achieved promotion into another section of the same team and my responsibilities changed. I was given a Commercial Licence of £250,000 which was the maximum for my grade and was responsible for the negotiating and pricing of Contracts valued between £250,000 and £2.5M. For the first time I was managing a member of staff with no commercial experience so I helped to guide them using at the desk training and advice on training to be undertaken. In this post I was responsible for the timely execution of 50 Contracts for Navigational Aids for the Royal Navy such as Bridge Plotting Tables. I undertook an exercise to rationalise live Contracts and to place full support Contracts in place of separate Supply, Repair and Post Design Services Contracts. The section received a large amount of purchase orders. Around 30 per month so I put in place a tracking spreadsheet which was updated whenever a purchase order was progressed. This spreadsheet enabled all members of the team to see how all orders were progressing and allowed team management to review the flow of work and outstanding work easily as any potential bottlenecks were visible.; for the Fleet Wide Systems Integrated Project TeamIn this job I was given a Full Commercial Licence for my grade (£50,000) and along with my Line Manger was responsible for the Support of 20 Naval Equipments with around 40 live Contracts. I routinely requested quotations, evaluated them and undertook any negotiations prior to price agreement within my delegated level. I also prepared Contract Terms and Conditions for my Line Manager to review and issue. One particular case was supporting the Senior Commercial Officer to place and negotiate a Contract in extremely short timescales. I provided a briefing pack for the team negotiating the Contract which included price breaks to show which purchase amount provided the best value for money. The value of this package was £750,000
