I love my job helping immigrants with psychological evaluations and it provides a strong sense of purpose. It seems that life was preparing me for this!I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) psychotherapist licensed by the Texas and the Florida Board of Social Workers. Being the child of parents from Ecuador that did not become fluent in English until I was in my late teen, has brought a strong component of work involving people from different cultures. This, eventually, lead me into working closely with immigrants in providing clinical immigration evaluations. I specialize in conducting comprehensive clinical evaluations for VAWA, U-visa, T-visa, asylum, and extreme hardship cases; and myself and my practice have conducted over 1000 immigration evaluations.Although I began my private practice in 2012, I have been practicing psychotherapy since beginning my Master’s in Clinical Social Work in 2001. I have over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist in out-patient settings including in juvenile rehabilitation facilities, medical hospitals, community care clinics, non-profit organizations, and private practice.in particular, my experience working immigrant families at Yale University provided me with excellent clinical skills.
