In addition to the Supply Manager duties listed below, the Product Manager worked with the business unit manager to develop marketing plans, price modeling and term contract sales. Accomplishments: Worked with the business unit manager to provide justification for the installation of a clay bed treater for the Xylene production process. The one million dollar expenditure removes olefins bringing the product on spec for acid wash color and opening up additional markets for the improved product stream. Additionally, during my term at Shell Chemical I was the US Domestic Marine Freight Category Manager. In this position I managed domestic marine contracting providing market intelligence, rate development and cost modeling for the various business. I negotiated spot and term marine contracts covering a wide range of products.

Hired, trained and managed ACBL's liquids logistics team. The team planned horsepower requirements (towboats) for ACBL's 450 barge liquids fleet to deliver equipment to customer's basis spot or contractual requirements. Worked closely with vessel operations and maintenance personnel to plan for equipment and river system outages thus minimizing their impact on ACBL and its customers. Planned and monitored vendor operations for barge preparations and deliveries against costs and customer commitment requirements. Negotiated vendor service contracts including volume discounts basis annual business. Developed vessel transit and usage statistics for management. Accomplishments:Planned and executed the merging of ACBL's and National Marine's (NMI) chemical fleets and customer bases. Interviewed NMI staff for retention and for insights into customer contracts, service expectations and requirements. Developed a training manual for ACBL sales personnel on the NMI contracts and individual customer requirements. Senior team member developing ACBL's new information management system. The system automated much of the clerical inputting of data and tied Logistics, Customer Service and Sales together on one set of customer contract requirements and inputs.
