We proposed the ideas that led to the introduction of a bill, helped write the law, helped pass it, and, overcoming huge odds, thwarted the governors attempt to veto. Then, having started a Scholarship Organization (S.O.) to run as a private non-profit to collect private donation and dispense scholarships based on need, we withstood two major court battles to keep it intact. The ruling in our favor was employed in the recent defense of a similar, though much larger program in Florida. Having successfully weathered both legal and legislative attacks, we have spun off our S.O. to focus on our new phase. Now our S.O. is run by Children's Scholarship Fund (CSF) under whose fabulous care the program is thriving.Now, having exemplified our principles in action, NEO seeks to assist others who want to better the educational opportunities available to families where they live.
