Now responsible for all aspects of operational delivery for the Strategic Road Network in the North West, including (as previously) all development and delivery of management and maintenance activities (in a £3bn capital programme over 5 years), but now also delivering real-time services to customers using our network via Traffic Officers in our Regional Control Centre and on the road, and colleagues delivering information services to customers, plus the support and development teams and business support functions. In addition, organisation lead with key stakeholders including Transport for the North, and Transport for Greater Manchester.

Responsible for the development and delivery of the strategic road network from the Scottish border above Carlisle to just north of Stoke-on-Trent, driving economic regeneration through internal operational teams and significant external strategic partnerships.

Non executive Chairman of Forward Swindon, the company established by Swindon Borough Council in 2010 to deliver and facilitate economic growth and property development in the town. Forward Swindon is a limited company, funded by the Council, but operated independently with a private sector dominated Board. The staff includes specialists in economic growth and inward investment, regeneration, senior business management, marketing and communications, and project management, with a mix of backgrounds in the private and public sector.

The UKHO is the world leader in the provision of data and content products and services to the international maritime community. With commercial revenues of c.£120m, I led delivery of the digital vision for the organisation, leading a team of c.60 to scope, build and deliver digital products to substantially grow our worldwide revenues.

Executive Board Director of £200m weather and climate organisation, driving organisational and cultural change, providing information based services to government agencies and departments, commercial organisations and the public.Transformed our web offering, both by leading the delivery of a new technology platform (to time and cost) as a channel to market for our products to customers, and step-change in the public web, which now has analytics, content management, SEO, PPC, and many other features, driving reach and enabling the monetisation of the website through advertising and sponsorship.

Developed a competency for innovation and creativity within colleagues, customers and members.Developed two new ventures to Board approval stage: one in specialist retail (blend of acquisition and JV), one a service business in the field of care.Managed turnaround and disposal via trade sale/MBO of wholesaling business.
