The firm was started in 1937 by our founder, Ben Silver (Dec.) as an agency of New York Life. In 1965 Ben was joined by nephew Alan Silver and the company expanded its markets and became Ben Silver and Associates.The firm's, specializing in wealth management, estate planning, business planning and life insurance, primary clients were high net worth.In 1964 Ben Silver was awarded the title of President of the Councils by New York Life, its highest sales recognitiion award. In 1965 Mr. Silver served on New York Life's Agent's Advisory Council.In 1987, now operating under its new name, The Silver Group, Alan Silver was awarded the title of National Vice President of the councils and lead all agents in its calendar year Summit campaign.In 1981 Ben and Alan were joined by Alan's oldest son Lloyd making the company a "three generation" company.In 2003 the firm further expanded its scope of operations, becoming Provada Insurance Services, completed with its move to San Francisco.The company now provides a broad array of financial services products, including life insurance and life settlements, to insurance producers across the nation. In addition to products, Provada also provides advanced planning support as well as marketing and sales support.Alan's career has earned him numerous awards for service to his clients including the National Quality Award, Million Dollar Round Table and MDRT elite Top of the Table. In 1988 he served on New York Life's Agent's Advisory Council.On a limited basis, Alan continues to work with a small group of his clients while devoting most of his time and attention to the continued expansion of Provada and its growth as a national force in insurance marketing and related areas.
