Alan Singleton has been involved in providing short and long term credit to agricultural enterprises for over forty years. The experience includes working with farmers and ranchers located across a large portion of the United States, including production of numerous agricultural commodities. After graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Economics, Alan joined the Farm Credit System - starting at Green River PCA in western Kentucky and then with the Louisville District Farm Credit Banks. Since 1989, Alan has been active in agricultural secondary market lending. Alan has been an instructor for various agricultural credit seminars sponsored by the American Bankers Association, Independent Bankers Association, and The Risk Management Association. He has co-authored articles in the Purdue University Ag-Economics Newsletter and The Journal of Lending & Credit Risk Management.Since leaving the Farm Credit System in 1989, Alan and his partners founded both American Farm Mortgage Company and Agricultural Mortgage Company of America. CGB Enterprises purchased Agricultural Mortgage Company of America in 2001. Alan has been Vice President and General Manager, and is currently President of CGB Agrifinancial Services, located in Louisville, Kentucky since then. CGB Enterprises is also the parent company of Consolidated Grain and Barge Company, Consolidated Terminals and Logistics Company and other transportation and logistics companies located throughout the Midwest. AGFI a nationally approved Seller and Central Servicer for the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac). In addition to Farmer Mac loans, the company originates and services commercial farm and ranch mortgages using the USDA’s FSA Guaranteed Loan programs and financial leasing through relationships with the Farm Credit System and other investors.
