I commenced working life in 1960 with the Commonwealth Department of Immigration for approximately 2 years. I then worked for R. B. Baker + Co, a metal deck roofing company, as estimator, time study and safety officer for a number of years. I worked for various building and construction companies including Hutcheson Bros. on MRD Building East Perth, A. T. Brine & Sons' Strathearn Garden Apartments Crawley and Lilleyman Consolidated in contract administration. I had a part-time business, A & P Services, selling surveying and scientific equipment. I then worked for Sunlite Roofing Systems in Sales and Scheduling and later Spectrum Plastics. I moved to Modern Hiring/Southern Wire Pty. Ltd. for approximately 13 years until the commencement of Right Metal Products in July 2004, in view of providing a business for my son Paul Sivewright.
