I have a diverse background in the construction industry, ranging from extensive experience in the ready mix concrete industry to residential construction, product sales and development, magazines and electronic media, non-profit management and teaching at the college and post-graduate level. Experience includes senior level management positions in ready mix, concrete construction, trade media, teaching and non-profit management. I have presented for numerous industry groups across the US and have taught industry classes and certifications for state associations as well for the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. I have also taught college classes at both the undergraduate level and post-graduate level for the Concrete Industry Management program at Middle Tennessee State University. In addition, I am an experienced professional writer, and have led strategic planning sessions for both associations and private businesses. Education includes a BA in Business management and an MBA degree (emphasis in project management), along with numerous professional certifications. My credentials include the Certified Association Executive (CAE), LEED AP and Certified Concrete Professional (CCPf) in the Sales and Marketing track. In January 2011, I earned a 2nd CCPf designation in the Sustainability track, becoming the first person to earn this certification and in March of 2013 I added a third CCPf certification for Concrete Technology.I have been deeply involved in sustainable construction using concrete, and have been recognized for those efforts by groups such as the Tennessee Environmental Council and the American Concrete Institute. My goals revolve around using my education and experience to work on projects that quite literally make our world a better place to live while also improving the skills and abilities of the team doing the work (including myself!)
