Having started my career in retail in 1987, I progressed to the position of Assistant Manager within a large DIY Superstore company in 1990, being the youngest person to become a Manager in the companies history. In 1996 I moved into the Hire Industry, managing what at the time was Ireland's largest hire depot. In 1998 I started in my first 'On Road' sales position selling small plant, power tools, health & safety and fasteners, progressing into selling and hiring heavy and light plant and access equipment. As part of this position I also established a Makita Power Tools Agency with a regular customer base. I moved to Monks & Crane Industrial Group in 2000 starting as a Territory Manager, in 2005 I was selected to attend 'The Wurth Group International Sales Management Seminar for the promotion of management staff' in Germany. In October 2006, Business First magazine wrote an article on work I had been doing through Intertrade Ireland's 'Network+Getwork' programme with one of the worlds largest engineering companies within their four sites in Northern Ireland. I was promoted to Branch Manager in November 2006. I started working for Moldex Metric in 2011 as their Regional Sales Manager for Scotland and Ireland, I achieved my BSIF 'Fit2Fit' accreditation with them for Qualitative Fit Testing. Unfortunately due to a cost cutting exercise my position became redundant on 1st October 2013.In March 2014 I moved into the medical industry with Endosurgical Ltd in Belfast, responsible for General Surgery selling surgical implant meshes, instrumentation and consumable products, I was also responsible for all products sold within the Decontamination Departments, after a while I also took on responsibility for capital surgical equipment. In July 2016 Endosurgical were bought by Hospital Services Limited, whereupon my responsibilities moved fully into Capital Surgical Equipment for the northern half of Ireland.
