The positions below reflect decades of experience in the agriculture industry coupled with many years of public service both as an elected official and a volunteer. This has led to an in depth understanding of how Federal Farm Bills are developed and how those programs are administered across the agricultural landscape nationwide.My involvement in the conservation arena mainly in Washington state, has also given me a detailed knowledge of natural resource issues such as water quality, air quality, and soil erosion. From different farming practices across the state, to the nutrient management issues of the dairy industry, the wolf recovery problem, invasive species, etc, I have experience with agricultural issues statewide.
