I decided to take a career break after leaving my last position in order to reassess my career goals, achieve many of my personal goals, and perhaps most importantly allow myself an extended period to mentally relax and recharge.This has allowed me to refocus on the things that are important to me in my personal life, it gave me time to assess what career I would like to pursue and has also helped me to better understand what I can offer in my next role.

· I started off with setting up new business group risk quotes for Income Protection, Death in Service and Critical Illness under 100 lives whilst working towards a quality licence, I eventually progressed to setting up quotes for under 300 lives as well as pricing our existing business block and a higher quality licence. · In 2011 I was part of the new Quality Assurance Team which was set up to overhaul our internal processes & procedures and to put together a new internal quality process model amongst other projects. · During this time new skills of claims experience analysis and previous underwriting decisions were picked up as well as new risk assessment techniques which have all proved to be valuable skills to possess.· At the end of 2013 I took part in a pilot which brought together experience from a number of different servicing areas with the ultimate aim of improving our service to the customer, following on from the success of the pilot as at September 2014 this is how the business operates on a daily basis. · From this time my role varied in line with the needs of the business, these included setting up & issuing group risk quotes up to 500 lives using the aforementioned skills, include customer relationship management projects, information reporting systems, building reporting tools to aid existing workflow management, further business processes, team subject matter expert referral point, acting as a mentor to newly trained team members to help aid their own development, and identifying situations to improve working practices and provide recommendations to help reduce the chances of customer detriment, reputational risk, company losses through internal errors as a risk champion.

I started off as part time to support college education, eventually turned full time and in 2004 became assistant manager of Home Department. A year later became manager overseeing the running of the department and managing approximately 5 members of staff.
