A native to Omaha Nebraska, Tipp earned his BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Kansas and graduated in May of 2000. In early 1999 he began interning for a start-up firm in Baltimore, MD known as Big Bang Products. He designed and developed items for The Home Shopping Network, QVC, Herrington, Macy’s, Dicks, The Sports Authority, Lands End, The Sharper image, Hammacher Schlemmer, and several other retailers. In 2002, the company restructured and focused its efforts on cold weather apparel accessories and outdoor recreational hard goods. The business, known thereafter as 180’s and Kelsyus, adopted Tipp’s inventions and sold them under its $50mm brand portfolio. During his tenure, Tipp’s ideas contributed to over 35 US and Foreign patents.In 2005 he he joined Eyeking as the Dir. of Design to launch Under Armour Performance Eyewear. Tipp is credited for many of the brand’s iconic designs including Zone, Streaker, Core, Igniter 1.0+2.0, Rival, and numerous sport, lifestyle and youth silhouettes . He is recognized in all of UAPE's Design and Utility patents including the tool-free football visor clip as seen in the NFL. He played a key role in advancing sunglass technologies that drove a unique point of view on design; allowing UA to stand out in a crowded market. While leading a team of skilled Industrial Designers and Modelers, Tipp was able to design and develop styles chosen by professional athletes at the highest level.Today, he owns and operates an ID consulting firm out of his private studio in Omaha, NE.Tipp received the attached letter of recommendation from his employer Craig Fels, COO and Owner of Eyeking,LLC.
