Alan is a Deloitte Advisory Partner based in San Francisco and a leader within the Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures practice. Deloitte’s M&A practice is a cross functional team of accounting, tax, consulting and financial risk advisory professionals dedicated to serving the unique needs of clients undergoing merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions. Alan primarily supports clients with financial due diligence and other transaction execution services on both the buy-side and the sell-side.Alan has been with Deloitte his whole career (over 25 years) and for the past twenty two years, he has worked exclusively with corporations and private equity investors to mitigate risks inherent in executing merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions. Over the course of the past two decades Alan has supported his clients with well over 300 closed and potential deals including multi-billion dollar strategic mergers, all manner of LBOs and deep expertise in advising on complex, cross border carve-out transactions. His experiences include major transactions with many of the Firm’s leading private equity and corporate clients.Alan currently serves as the West Coast leader of Deloitte’s seller services practice which supports organizations with all financial related aspects of divestitures, spin-offs and line of business / division sales. Primary services include assistance with the preparation and analysis of carve-out financial information, seller due diligence, quality of earnings reports and other seller transaction execution services.Prior to relocating to San Francisco, Alan completed an international assignment with Deloitte in Duesseldorf, Germany where he served as the lead partner on cross border M&A transaction opportunities between North America and Germany.Alan is originally from Wisconsin where he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a certified public accountant (licensed in both New York & California) and he speaks fluent German.
