Technical role as a specialist in dam engineering, reservoir safety and hydropower engineering. Was responsible for the company's technical leadership in the Dams and River Engineering practice group over 7 years. I routinely lead or advise on a wide range of reservoir projects and research initiatives to promote reservoir safety. I provide training of panel engineers. I have served as an expert witness for legal cases.

I have worked in more than fifteen countries worldwide on projects involving the study, planning, design and construction of dams for water supply, flood control, irrigation and, in particular, hydropower. My hydropower experience has covered schemes ranging from less than 1 MW to 1000 MW installed capacity. Drawing on a strong background in hydrology and hydraulics, my particular specialisms lie in hydropower planning and studies, the design of headworks and flood and sediment management. I have particular experience with dam condition assessments, inspection, remedial and improvement works and within the UK much of my work is in the capacity of a member of the All Reservoirs Panel under the Reservoirs Act 1975.
