One of my main achievements has been creating a non-profit charity from scratch, and growing it to become a successful, effective medium sized organisation. The goal of Trees for Life is to restore the Caledonian Forest in an area of over 1,000 square miles in the Highlands of Scotland and reintroduce all the missing species of wildlife. Specialties: Public speaking - giving inspired talks at events and conferences. Marrying together a positive long-term vision with specific practical action to help achieve it. Another speciality is writing about Nature and the beauty and diversity of natural ecosystems. See my blog at: www.alansblog.org.uk .One of my current projects is the production of a high quality photographic book, with detailed ecological text, about the Araucaria (monkey puzzle tree) forests of Chile.I travel extensively to photograph the trees and forests of the world, and have one of the best collections of high quality images of trees and natural forests.
