After 5 years with Safetykleen, and 2 promotions, I’m proud to be a senior sales consultant here. It’s immensely satisfying to work with business owners and senior managers in manufacturing and engineering companies in the North of England and to be a trusted supplier. I am the Account Manager for about 25 clients where I’m responsible for on-boarding new clients I’ve sold our service to. Finding new clients is where most of my time is focused. Initial conversations start as a result of many activities. Referrals and introductions are always appreciated. I identify companies to talk through a range of research and prospecting activity. As a result, I’ve learned a lot about manufacturing as it relates to cleaning, especially in the three business benefit areas that Safetykleen aligns with:Productivity – I’m able to identify when cleaning processes are impacting productivity, such as manual handling of parts or equipment downtime.- as an example, I helped a paint shop client to increase productivity through our system of cleaning part-used paint tins and improvements in waste handling routines. Quality – I recognise that cleaning makes a major contribution to quality, from cleanliness of finished goods and components at dispatch, reduction of rejects, clean surfaces to spray paint onto, cutting tolerances and more.- to illustrate, a rail carriage refurbishment client was able to improve quality throughout their process after I identified the benefits that our hotwash system would deliver by more thoroughly cleaning components early in the refurb process.Compliance – I’m able to identify when there’s potential for improvements in Health & Safety areas.- for example, I was able to propose an aqueous cleaning method to replace a chemical one, which avoided the company having to ensure operators were equipped with chemical suits.If you’d like a chat about cleaning in a manufacturing context please get in touch.
