I am currently working as a laboratory technician at the University of Glasgow, and looking for a new challenge. In my 14 years here, have worked in a variety of different research groups, gaining experience in aspects of molecular biology, in vivo experiments and related imaging, and safety in the laboratory environment. I have completed several training course both in-house and externally such as COSHH and Managing Safely.For the past 5 years, I have worked within the Flow Cytometry Core Facility at the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, at first part time, then full time as of 4 years ago. In this time, I have completed a 4 day residential course at the University of York, and a Distance Learning Course on Flow Cytometry, and also completed a 5 day residential course at Becton Dickinson in Belgium on Advanced Cell Sorting.While I consider myself to be skilled in the area of flow cytometry, for me, the aspect I enjoy the most is the organisational side of working in the laboratory and keeping paperwork etc. up to date. I would welcome the opportunity to put these skills to good use and welcome any further training required.
