The Minnesota Diverse Elders Coalition was developed by assessing and convening culturally-specific organizations serving older adults. We work to end ageism, racism and health disparities facing older Minnesotans.Formed in 2019, our work is inspired by the national Diverse Elders Coalition that advocates for policies and programs that improve aging in communities as racially and ethnically diverse people, American Indians and Alaskan Natives, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender people. As Director of Equity and Operations, Alana leads the Leadership Council’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work, including coordination of the Minnesota Diverse Elders Coalition and contributing to several external projects with strategic partners. She also provides essential operations support to the Leadership Council.The Minnesota Leadership Council on Aging is a champion, thought leader, planner and educator.
