Our Coach-Mentor Training uses best practices from our 25+ years of experience as a leader in sports-based youth development to train coaches from any sport as mentors.The training builds coaches' capacity to create lasting, positive connections with youth and teaches them how to build social and emotional skills of young people. The training also teaches coaches how to work effectively with youth in and from underserved communities and create a positive team culture that reflects the diversity of the youth they serve. This is especially critical when coaches work with young people of varying racial, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Contributes to various program initiatives and the training efforts of youth sports coaches nationwide within the U.S. Soccer Foundation's programs such as Coach-Mentor Training, Just Ball, and Soccer for Success.

Soccer for Success, Project Specialist-Senior |U.S. Soccer Foundation's Soccer for Success, in partnership with the Independent Health Foundation as one of its free signature programs, is a youth sports-based program, that emphasizes health/wellness, social-emotional learning, and soccer mastery skills with a focus on mentorship to further build positive connections with youth between grades K-8th in various communities within Western New York.My role consists of the following:-Recruitment: Create/reevaluate ongoing Coach-Mentor recruitment plan, oversee Brand Ambassador program, coach recruitment partnerships/additional recruitment opportunities, attend/coordinate internship/job fair/outreach efforts for expansion of player and Coach-Mentor recruitment, coordinate/assist Coach-Mentor scheduling/communication/role placement, assist with Coach-Mentor onboarding-Program: Coordinate participant family communication, assist with gathering program data, Coach-Mentor engagement opportunities, oversee participant scrimmages, social media efforts/content creation, annual Greg Massey Coach-Mentor Award, and act as a liaison for all indoor and outdoor programming sites. -Training: Attend National Coach-Mentor Training, assist in the selection of local trainers, oversee all Coach-Mentor training/additional certification opportunities, Coach-Mentor evaluations/Curriculum integrity, data tracking of training/recruitment opportunities and Coach-Mentor required training/compliance needs.Community Volunteer Program, Project Specialist-Senior | (Formally December 2019 - February 2024)As volunteer coordinator, I coordinated all Independent Health Foundation volunteer outreach and recruitment, strategize with other project coordinators and managers of volunteer needs for event planning, assign volunteer roles based on event requirements, coordinate rewards and recognition for volunteers, and presented at new hire celebration.

Contributes to community outreach/community engagement youth sports coaching throughout the Western New York Community, aided in the coordination with the development team to establish a virtual coaching presence to connect, mentor, and educate youth during the COVID-19 pandemic

Provided support and mentoring services to an assigned caseload of high school youth in the Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection program, Utilized best practices from education and youth leadership/development models to: Develop youth peer group enrichments, Assist students in achieving positive academic outcomes including high school graduation & National Honors Society memberships, Coordinating volunteer opportunities within the community, Develop life skills, College & trade school preparation and employment/professional preparation & development.
