Water Conservation Technician
CurrentUnder general supervision, conducts routine residential, landscape and commercial water audits, and distributes water saving devices and educational material. Provides water conservation recommendations to consumers verbally and/or via written correspondence; assists water conservation public relations efforts including setting up and staffing information booths and educational exhibits; provides administrative and clerical support including compiling and maintaining program data; and supports division's research efforts through fieldwork.Positions in this class are characterized by responsibility for carrying out the less complex and more routine residential, landscape and commercial water audits and educational activities under East Bay Municipal Utility District's (EBMUD's) Water Conservation Master Plan (WCMP). Audits are typically multi-family, single family residential or basic commercial or institutional audits. Water Conservation Technicians are distinguished from Water Conservation Representatives which are assigned to the most complex residential, commercial, and large irrigator audits requiring extensive data compilation and greater consumer consultation in addition to project and grant administration and conservation program development and implementation. Water Conservation Technicians may assist in complex water audits led by a Water Conservation Representative for training and development purposes.
