Nirvana Energy, founded by Stanford professors in collaboration with NASA engineers, has developed a Stirling engine-based technology that leverages acoustics to deliver heating, cooling, hot water, and electricity generation. The Company is preparing to launch its initial product, an electric heat pump, that will completely change the game in that it does not require a refrigerant line or compressor, which dramatically reduces installation complexity and cost as well as enhances performance in extreme temperatures. Its whisper-quiet operation enables both indoor or outdoor installation. Nirvana's space age technology and simplified approach will enable access to renewable energy for many people who have previously been excluded, providing incredible long-term benefits to lower income individuals and most of all, our planet. Refined the company’s go-to-market strategy and product offering within the emulating card space, brought in legal counsel (WSGR) and advisors from Visa, Acxiom, etc., as well as helped raise more than $2 million in funding and put in front of numerous investors. Member of a seven member banking team at a leading boutique investment bank focusing solely on financial technology-related mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, capital raises, fairness opinions, as well as advisory services to private equity, LBOs, IPO Advisory and valuation analysis. Deals included: Citi's $680M acquisition of ATD, NYSE's $225M acquisition of Wombat Financial Software and Goldleaf Financial Solutions' $42.5M acquisition of Alogent.

Part of a two member team that built and grew the Asset-Backed Lending focused MVP Fund of Funds from a fund with six positions and no service providers to a legitimate fund with 35 position. The goal of the fund was to produce consistent, positive net monthly returns, irrespective of market conditions. Upon my departure, the fund was ranked in the top 10 out of 1,185 Fund of Funds by Sortino ratio and had a Sharpe ratio of 3.89 (top 1.5%). I negotiated service provider and administrator agreements, as well as engaged in fund due diligence and identifying potential investors.

First research group on the street to initiate coverage on the SaaS space(Salesforce, Concur, RightNow, Taleo, etc), also covered the Business Intelligence (Hyperion, Cognos, Microstrategy) and ETL (Ascential, Informatica) spaces, as well as retail POS solutions. Worked closely with C-level management teams, as well as other leading industry analysts, to identify, research, formulate, and communicate investment opinions of companies based in the mid and small cap software sector for Citigroup's thousands of worldwide clients.

Worked with COO and Product Managers to evaluate and assess future direction and strategy of company. Responsible for working with investment banks, venture capital firms, and consultants in evaluating investment and acquisition opportunities; Evaluated over 100 acquisition/ investment/ partnership opportunities within the financial software space. Performed full preliminary due diligence, financial modeling, DCF analysis, and helped establish integration plan for three separate mergers totaling over $100 million and eleven strategic investments. Personally negotiated int’l strategic partnership resulting in $1M+ in net income over two years.
