I am an employment lawyer who advises businesses and individuals on all aspects of work, from recruitment to termination, and everything in between. I consider the relationships within a workforce to be fundamental to the success of a business. It is therefore essential that contracts are fair and that expectations are managed, so that goals are aligned and disputes are rare. When problems do arise, I provide clients with the advice and representation they need to enable them to focus on the day job.I joined a local law firm as an office junior in 2007 after returning from two years of travelling. I had always found law fascinating, and I knew that I wanted to work with people, rather than papers. I began my training by studying criminal law, family law, and employment law. I quickly became hooked on the relationships that form in the workplace, and I enjoyed the fast pace of litigation, and so I qualified in employment law in 2011.Since then, I have developed my skills to focus on two areas. I have developed a keen interest in local business; I enjoy supporting employers in getting the best out of their employees, which in turn, helps them to grow their business. I have also found a specialism in discrimination; striving for equality in the workplace, and tackling the wider issues behind the legislation. As well as advising clients, I enjoy delivering workshops and speaking at seminars, and I love a good debate! It's extremely important to me that employment advice is accessible and that clients feel comfortable seeking guidance as soon as possible.
