Alana Wagner is a Operations Coordinator at TGM at TGM. Colleagues describe her as "My name is Dr. Brian Thoms, and I am Assistant Professor of Computer Systems at SUNY. I currently teach upper-division courses in information systems that cater to computer systems majors, business majors and engineering majors. One of the courses I teach is a comprehensive course on information systems, required by all business students. The course, titled, BCS300, Management of Information Systems is very challenging and provides students with a comprehensive overview of numerous systems as they are used across various industries. Additionally, within this course I require my students to be competent across a broad range of technologies, including databases, MS Office and social software applications. Each semester I challenge students to think critically about how information systems are used within business environments to help them better achieve a competitive advantage. One student I have had the great pleasure of getting to know during my tenure at SUNY is Alana Seibert. Alana was a top performer in BCS300. Not only did she receive an A in my class, she achieved the highest score, which is not often reflected in the letter-grading system. Alana is conscientious, creative and insightful in her work and goes above and beyond what is expected. To date, I continue to use Alana's final project, both paper and presentation, as the model for exemplary work. When given the chance, I am confident Alana will excel at whatever task and role she takes on.
