Alana Johnson, AM. Change specialist : Individuals, Families, Organisations, Communities + Politics. Public Speaker, Writer + Board Director. Alana is a founder and past President of Voices for Indi and is currently a Director of the Community Independents project which saw the recent election of Community Independents to federal parliament. Alana is a pioneer in rural women’s leadership in Australia having been a founding member of Australian Women in Agriculture, former President of the Foundation for Australian Agricultural Women. She is the currently Chair of the Victorian Women's Trust, immed past Chair Vic. Catchment Management Council, Chair of the Dugdale Trust, and Director of Goulburn Murray Water. Alana was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to women. She has been inducted onto the Victorian Honour Roll of Women and has received a Distinguished Alumni Award from La Trobe University. Alana was the Victorian Rural Woman of the Year for 2010 and Australian Rural Women’s Award runner up. She was named in the inaugural 100 Women of Influence in Australian by the Financial Review and also the inaugural 100 Women in Agribusiness in Australia by Rural Press. For the past 30 years Alana has been involved in cattle production, farm forestry and landscape renovation on the family property on Taungurong country near Benalla Victoria
