Initially I was taken on on a three month contract to analyse the internal processes of the company and advise how they could be optimised. However, I went on to take over the IT department and build a corporate IT infrastructure.Under my guidance the IT department was optimised to support a rapidly growing national retailer, growing from 10 stores in 2003 to 54 stores in 2006. As part of the process I implemented standardisation policies for the IT infrastructure, the internal operating systems and corporate software.During my time at the Purfume Connection I was able to considerably improve the organisational workflows, not only in the IT department but also in their other business divisions. For example, helping to create optimised pick-walks for the warehouse staff and creating mobile solutions for the regional managers to be able to connect to head office in order to efficiently manage management and reporting needs.
