Key Account ManagerRecruitment & Employment Confederation Mar 2012 - May 2015London, United KingdomABOUT THE REC:The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) is a fantastic organisation that is dedicated to representing the interests of the UK’s £19.7 billion recruitment industry in Parliament, Whitehall, the European Commission.RESPONSIBILITIES:Whilst the REC is a registered charity, we did not get donations in the traditional sense. Instead, we offered a subscription service which gave organisations access to our research, guidance and advice. This revenue was the lifeblood to the organisation as without it, we were not able to fund the incredibly valuable work to hundreds of thousands of people. As the Key Account Manager for the REC, my responsibility was to work closely with our largest customers and ensure they were continuing to get value from us, and feedback to the business ways in which we could improve. ACHIEVEMENTS:I saw significant success whilst there, and my results are below:- 2012 - 112%- 2013 - 140%- 2014 - 136%- 2015 - YTD before leaving 160% -

Role was to partner with VP's across Europe to ensure regional economic and political factors were equated for.ACHIEVEMENTS:Being promoted twice during my time here, I learned the following when working in such large, complex businesses:- Relationships are key. Getting things done in such large businesses can often feel like pushing treacle up hill. By building strong relationships with a varied group, things can be achieved quickly by assembling the right team.- Good sales operations are worth their weight in gold. Correctly setting quotas across a region/country is challenging, but ensuring that at rep level it is clear how quota was built is essential for moral and belief.- Change is the only constant. Things move at such a pace that what was good last quarter may not be good this quarter. Being adaptive and willing to change is critical, and having the right team around you is vital to said change (see point 1). -
