I am an innovative educator and leader passionate about integrating digital media into academic programs. As the Professor of Practice and Director of Digital Innovation Programs at Kansas State University, I spearhead the development of forward-thinking digital degree and certificate offerings. My work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world application, preparing our students for success in a rapidly changing digital landscape.Since joining K-State, I have launched several key initiatives, including the Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Innovation in Media in Fall 2022, which incorporates certifications and apprenticeships. In Spring 2023, I introduced the Online Graduate Certificate in Digital Media for Educators, followed by the Online Certificate in Digital Engagement in Fall 2023 to support professionals in reskilling. I also developed a non-credit Digital Skills Competency Certificate in Spring 2024, focusing on vital digital competencies.Additionally, I initiated the K-State Digital Summit in Fall 2023 to showcase K-State's 16+ digital offerings to high school students and transitioning military personnel. My vision for the Digital Kansas 2030 Initiative aims to establish a comprehensive digital education ecosystem in Kansas.I teach a variety of courses, such as Principles of Advertising, Innovations in Media and Communication, Writing in a Digital Economy, Digital Brand Strategy, PR and AD Campaigns (Capstone), Media Relations, Strategic Sports Communications and Building Social and Cultural Connections. With previous leadership roles at Coca-Cola, AT&T, First Data, John Marshall Law School and Equifax, I have developed more than 40 digital platforms, led marketing initiatives for three Olympic Games, and actively engaged in discussions on digital workforce development.Let's connect and explore how we can advance digital education together!
