Hello & welcome.Over a 30 year career in investment banking I had the opportunity to work with many businesses, of differing shape, size & sector, throughout Europe & Asia. Along the way, I accumulated a great deal of knowledge and experience, both technical and analytical, but also people & sales skills.Two years ago I set up my own consultancy business, working more with the SME market – often the life blood of an economy! In many ways, the fundamental issues that businesses face are, of course, very similar, regardless of their size & location – the difference is often the passion in the SME market, which is much more prevalent when you are dealing with a business owner. During the last 3 years I have been gratified to work with one of foremost Executive Search companies in investment banking, namely Spartan International. This has been a tumultuous period for the industry with MIFID 2 let alone the added complications of BREXIT. To be able to continue to maintain the relationships throughout the industry that I have cherished for 30 years is reward enough but observing and assisting many of the IB's competing for space and talent is exciting. This is ameliorated by my work with OAGI which specialises in developing strategies for SME owners to 'exit' their business but ensuring the legacy and growth continues unabated under new management.Apart from work, I am an increasingly worried observer of the decline that is Northampton Town FC! The bigger passion is cricket & rugby, where fortunately we have a better claim to excellence. My favourite beer is the world's best IPA from the Phipps Brewery Co; sheer unadulterated ambrosia!
