Develop sustainable partnerships with community leaders who serve neighbors in need (such as non-profits, churches, and government agencies), and recruit, train, and support congregants to volunteer with these partners.Direct and train the Diaconate Committee, recruit and train new diaconal members, exercise financial oversight of mercy funds, help manage cases and provide pastoral counsel, and report on the diaconate’s effectiveness.Lead the West Side Gotham cohort to help participants connect their faith and their work through theological training and community formation, pray for and counsel Gotham fellows, and recruit new participants.Work with staff on congregant discipleship and pastoral care needs, lead Sunday worship, and preach.
