A human resources professional with extensive experience in higher education, Dr. Chesney has skills in executive coaching, conflict resolution and organizational transitions. Alan's work in higher education has focused on developing programs and processes which both enhance the organization and benefit its employees. Examples include creating an employee assistance program, forming a health care coalition, creating an apprenticeship program,implementing a more transparent grievance process, forming a Chancellor's advisory council, and co authoring a campus diversity plan.Currently Alan is the Past Chair of the Southern Region of CUPA-HR. He is also an active board member of the Knoxville Area Urban League. He worked part time as the Acting Director of the Wellness Program at Knoxville College before becoming the Director of Human Resources at Washington College.
