I currently serve as Vice President of IT over claims, payment, and encounter functions at Centene Corporation, a public managed healthcare company that is part of the S&P 500. I have championed the adoption of the Innovate–Transform–Modernize program, helping to turn IT into a competitive differentiator and value engine for the business by modernizing the tech stack, advancing Agile development and engineering practices, and delivering multiple cutting-edge technology solutions. My career journey began as an Analyst and Software Engineer in the US Air Force working on navigational and activity tracking applications. After my honorable discharge from service, I joined NAIC as a Software Team Lead leading the revamp of an antiquated insurance policy quoting and administration platform. After NAIC, I served in Technical Manager and Software Solution Advisor roles at NYSE/SAIC modernizing legacy trading floor systems. My team successfully delivered the first Java J2EE-based system on the exchange floor. I then joined PayFlex Systems as an IT Consultant before being recruited into the Application Development & Technology Delivery Director role. In this capacity, I launched IT processes and grew the team to 175 global resources; led mobile and digital solution development; and directed the adoption of Agile and DevOps practices. I hold an MBA from Colorado State University along with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, and Scrum Master, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and Machine Learning credentials. I am passionate about being a force for productive change, improving the customer experience, elevating employee engagement, coaching and mentoring teams to build a strong pipeline of business-focused technical talent, and positioning organizations for scalable, profitable growth.
